Who
can compete?
Following the National guidelines-
- One team representing the school at the
regional competition will consist of:
- Students enrolled in
private, public, or home schools.
- Three 7-8th grade
students (must be from same public or private school)
- Volunteer engineer mentor
(any type of engineering; engineering student or retired engineer; with
the degree and not using it or working as a an engineer without the
degree)
- Teacher (any grade level
or subject in that school district)
- Home-schooled students must be no younger
than the 7th grade equivalent and no older than the 8th
grade equivalent.
- All schools must be registered by the October
deadline (see Important Dates) to be eligible. Note: Registration is not
complete until the registration fee is received. Registration fee is
$25.00 per school. PO’s can not be accepted.
Teams recruit their own engineer mentor. However, if you need help finding
an engineer mentor, contact the Steering Committee member Gus, our Engineer Mentor
Liaison, at gus.smithhisler@dnr.state.oh.us.
